An extraordinary 900-year old chateau in the Pays de Loire with luxury accommodations and a picturesque setting outside a pretty village: this historic castle sets the scene for magical family holidays.
While the main castle is both a B&B and the owner’s residence, the two wings can be rented independently or together as a venue. This particular wing - The Chateau des Poetes Keep- dates back to the 13th century and is artfully designed. Ornate wallpaper, rich tapestries, antique furnishings, and chandeliers decorate the four floors, including five sumptuous bedrooms with luxury bedding and gorgeous valley views.
Dinners at home are quite special in the medieval dining room beside the Gothic fireplace (wood included!), and the library, piano, billiard table, and games make it easy to stay entertained indoors.
The 15 hectares of parkland are filled with exotic trees imported from all over the world. Guests will also love the private pond, shared pool, and a vibrant French garden, complete with ancient castle ruins.
The famous Puy du Fou is a must see. It’s been named the 2nd most popular theme park in France next to Disneyland Paris and is just 8km away!
The owners live in the main part of the castle and they rent 2 historical wings of the large castle: the XVIIth century Chateau Des Poets Keep and (or) the medieval Chateau des Poetes Pavillion. /n Security deposit /n €500 for holiday rental and €800 for a wedding. Furthermore, guests are asked to provide a credit card on arrival and the chateau will charge the credit card with any unpaid charges, damages and repairs discovered after the client has checked out.
/n Arrival time /n 15.00 /n Departure time /n 10.00 a.m. /n Energy costs included? /n Included in the rental price (see below for heating). /n Linen & towels included? /n Linen and two towels per person included in the 'End of Stay Cleaning' fee. /n Pets welcome? /n Dogs may be permitted on request only and with prior agreement with the owner. If accepted, a pet supplement of €50 per dog per week will apply (payable locally). /n End of stay cleaning included? /n Extra €180/week. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the security deposit. /n Smoking Allowed? /n No smoking in the property. /n Insurance /n It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property. /n Other Ts and Cs /n - Swimming pool : The swimming pool (14m x 6m) is available between 9AM and midday and 2PM and 7PM. The swimming pool is not available between midday and 2PM. No food is allowed at the pool. A gate with code number do not allow small children to enter at the swimming pool without adults. The pool is shared between guests at the chateau, the keep and the pavilion. /n Heating costs included? /n Extra €200 per week in winter months, payable locally. /n Changeover day /n Any day of the week. /n Tax /n French Visitors Tax payable locally (typically costs approximately between €1-€3 per adult per night- please enquire if exact amount is required). /n Other Ts and Cs /n Extra beds: €80 per bed per adult/child per week. /n Other Ts and Cs /n Children under 8 are not accepted. The owner requests no more than up to three children/teenagers at one time. /n Pool opening dates? /n The heated swimming pool is shared with other guests and is open approximately June to end-September from 9 am to 7 pm (subject to weather conditions). Please note that small children must be under full parental control and responsibility. /n Minimum stay /n 7 nights. Short-breaks are possible on request only, outside approximately mid-July to mid-August. Please enquire. /n Other Ts and Cs /n The owners request peace and quiet in front of other guests at any time. /n Tax /n €0.80 per adult per day /n Other Ts and Cs /n Cycling and bikes are not permitted on the property. /n Other Ts and Cs /n Weddings, stag/hen parties and any other special events are on request only and subject to prior arrangement with the owner and additional charges. /n Pool towels included? /n Yes, one pool towel per person. /n Pool heating charge? /n No. Please note that like all heated pools, pool heating and water temperature are reliant on weather and outside temperatures.
