The neighborhood of the Gare de l'Est is a cosmopolitan area due to the influx of travelers and the diversity of the locals in the arrondissement. On one hand, the dynamism of the Gare de l'Est (somewhat similar to the Gare du Nord) has its breweries open 24/7, supermarkets not closing before midnight, taxis, as well as the amazing transportation allowing you to get to the four corners of Paris with ease. On the other hand, at the Canal Saint-Martin you’ll be in the bohemian air! An area popular for Parisians singles and young families and a corner you won’t want to miss during your stay in Paris! The neighborhood has it all! From the numerous restaurants (gourmet to Parisian bistros), designer boutiques to vintage shops, big bookstores, art galleries, bars with and without terraces, and don’t forget the canal from la Villette to Bastille ... In short, this place is magical! Must See Places Nearby: La Place de la République, Pigalle, Montmartre, les puces de Clignancourt, the place de la République, the Saint Martin canal, the parc de la Villette, the Cité de la Science, the Oberkampf area, the Marais and the canal de l’Ourq.
