Description
Tudor Manor House sits pretty on the edge of the Somerset LevelsLocation aside. A Grade II listed building, previously used by the Monks of Glastonbury in 1489. With a history as old as time under its belt, it'll come as no surprise that the house is spilling over with history and charming atmosphere. It still echoes of grandeur and retains periodical features, including a Tudor fireplace, chandeliers and four-poster beds in many of the 11 en-suite bedrooms. Each room has been individually decorated and is in keeping with the original character of the property. From every window, you'll find uninterrupted views across the rolling Somerset countryside. So relish the peace and tranquillity that is oh so hard to find in today’s busy world.
On entering the manor, you'll be fixated by the superb great hall with tiled floors and comfortable seating. In the winter months, a log fire also provides a very warm welcome to guests. Leading off the room is a grand dining room and snug with a wood burning stove, wooden floors and leather sofas. Then there's the commercial kitchen which has two large gas ranges, dishwasher facilities, microwaves and sufficient crockery, cutlery and glassware for large groups.
The interiors are as cosy as they come, but tear yourself away and outside you will discover 20 acres of spacious yet informal gardens. It's the best place to take in the fresh air with a side order of hilly views. Guests can enjoy games on the lawn or a leisurely stroll around the grounds.
